Churches Together in Essex and East London

Where Christians come together for God's mission

Supporting God’s mission together

Churches together in Essex and East London (CTEEL) help to facilitate the ecumenical dialogue between different churches, bringing them together under one faith and one God.

The principle aim of ecumenism is to promote unity among Christian churches’ as we respond to the prayer of Jesus ...

I pray that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me (John 17:21)

The key objective is the advancement of the Christian religion within villages, towns and communities by sharing the love of Christ through:

  • Visible unity - one faith one God
  • Common witness – prayer, worship and evangelism
  • Serving together – meeting human needs, addressing barriers, seeking justice, peace and care for creation
  • Local partnerships – ecumenical churches and project

Coming together also provides an opportunity to share experiences and views, examine differences and seek ways to resolve the issues that have separated us.

CTEEL represents the historic Christian denominations, as well as new and emerging churches and fellowships in Essex and East London (Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest).
