An introduction from Bishop Adam

This is certainly an interesting time for our episcopal area, as we navigate our evolving community needs and the ongoing call to live out our faith in a rapidly changing world. These challenges, while significant, are met with unwavering commitment and a shared vision for the future. By embracing innovation while remaining rooted in our core values, we are confident in our path forward and the renewed vitality that lies ahead for our entire community.

The Bradwell Area is beautifully diverse, rich in culture and it’s varied communities. Our nine deaneries cover south and mid Essex, stretching from Epping Forest and Ongar to the coast at Southend-on-Sea. We serve Brentwood and Chelmsford, Maldon and the Dengie peninsula, Basildon, Hadleigh and Rochford.

We are actively working hard to introduce thoughtful changes designed to foster spiritual growth, enhance our outreach, and ensure the long-term flourishing of every congregation across Bradwell. To that end my team and I, with each deanery, are trying to help one another bring about positive changes and establish ways of mutual support in each local context. Some of this will count as ‘innovation’, some will be sharing learnings and ideas, some will be expressing our being in ways we’ve been called to for generations.

We hope over time this online resource will be a place which offers tools for renewal and a culture of abundance in mission and the life of our Church and ministers. As we do so I hope we may establish a loving, caring and nurturing environment that enables everyone in Bradwell to do their very best - and have a good time doing it.

Exploration into the depths of our inherited faith and shared experience of God
Supporting vibrant and sustaining prayer and worship across all traditions of the church
Nurturing and encouraging new disciples
Serving communities as places of welcome, compassion and safety 
Offering prophetic leadership in issues of justice and creation care
